At the end of November, important changes in migration legislation took place in Turkey, which concern all immigrants and relocators. The innovations relate to the processes of registration and extension of a temporary residence permit.
From now on, foreign citizens planning to obtain or extend a residence permit must register at their place of residence and in the National Electronic Notification System (UETS). Without these now mandatory actions, the documents and the extension application will not be accepted for consideration. The UETS system has replaced paper notifications. Candidates will now receive information by e-mail.
Make an appointment
A number of processes have become more rigorous. So, now, before registering a permanent address and fingerprinting, you must first make an appointment through a special online service of the migration service. The requirement simplifies many processes, but requires care.
Registration via the online system is now a mandatory requirement. Migration departments will not accept visitors without an appointment. Therefore, it is important to carefully register and not miss the appointed time, since the free slots for the reception are limited. By skipping the appointment time or canceling it, the applicant will be able to send a repeat request only after 15 days.
For an electronic record, you will need a login from the e-Government (e-Devlet) system. If it is not available, you can get it at the nearest PTT post office.
On the one hand, the new rules are aimed at simplifying and improving migration processes in the country, but on the other hand, they require greater care from relocators. Otherwise, it will not be possible to avoid delays and failures.
